P2 – Gemma Caughey
Gemma Caughey is the old P.2 teacher who is young at heart!
She has been here for years and years and years. In fact she is now teaching her past pupils’ children, uses a whiteboard instead of a blackboard and central heating has replaced the open fire which warmed the milk during her first five years of teaching in St. Joseph’s Ballycran. She can often be seen travelling the roads on her feet or state-of-the-art bike as a means of de-stressing. In her latter years, she has been preparing herself for old age by strolling round Kirkistown Golf Course chasing a little white ball - and her handicap is herself!
